At a concert in Manchester, U.K., on Sunday, July 20,Liam Gallaghertold audience members, "Do we have any lovebirds in the house? Don't worry, we ain't got any of that Coldplay, snidey f------camera s---. It doesn't matter to us who you're f------ mingling with, or tingling with or fingering with. None of our f------ business." The statement comes on the heels of theColdplay kiss cam scandal. The viral saga began when a couple was highlighted in a kiss cam segment during a Coldplay show at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., on July 16. After realizing they were on camera, the woman could be seen covering her face while the man ducked out of sight. The reaction prompted lead singerChris Martinto quip, "Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy." Without confirming the identities of anyone in the video, tech company Astronomer quickly announced that it has "initiated a formal investigationinto this matter" and reiterated that its "leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability." Samir Hussein/WireImage Hours later, it announced that Astronomer CEO Andy Byron had been "placed on leave." In an update the next day, it revealed that Byron had resigned. On Monday, July 21, interim CEO Pete DeJoy issued a statement on behalf of the company. "Over the weekend, I stepped into the role of Interim CEO at Astronomer, a company that I've proudly poured my entire professional life into helping build," DeJoywrote. The foul-mouthed kids of South Park may have just made their creators billion-dollar players in the streaming wars. According to areport in the Los Angeles Times, the Emmy and Oscar-nominated Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the longtime masterminds behind Comedy Central's animated romp "South Park," have reached a groundbreaking five-year deal with Paramount for the global streaming rights to their iconic animated series. Valued at $300 million per year, the agreement would total a staggering $1.5 billion, according to the newpaper. Paramount did not respond to several requests for comment, perhaps because the deal isn't yet finalized. The new pact comes following a recent tense standoff between Parker and Stone and Paramount. Parker and Stone have accused incoming Paramount president Jeff Shell of interfering in their contract negotiations with WBD and Netflix. Meanwhile, according to a recent Hollywood Reporter story, Paramount Global and Parker/Stone had already outlined a pact that would have spread over a decade and been valued at $3 billion. But Skydance, which is in the process of purchasing Paramount, is said to have balked at that agreement. As this was all going on, the "South Park" Season 27 premiere was delayed by two weeks to July 23. In response, the official "South Park" X/Twitter account released a statement from Parker and Stone: 'This merger is a shit show and it's fucking up 'South Park,'" the duo wrote in response to the press release from Comedy Central about the change in premiere date for "South Park." "We are at the studio working on new episodes and we hope the fans get to see them somehow." The new deal with Parker and Stone's Park County production company would bring regular "South Park" episodes to Paramount+ in the U.S. for the first time, marking a major strategic shift for the long-running animated satirical program. Warner Bros. Discovery's HBO Max had previously maintained the exclusive streaming rights to the series, although Paramount+ has aired several "South Park" event specials. The HBO Max deal expired last month. The new agreement arrives just ahead of the launch of the show's 27th season, which airs on Comedy Central on Wednesday, July 23 and days before Parker and Stone are set to appear at San Diego Comic-Con. While the streaming pact is the notable headline-grabber, Parker and Stone are also renegotiating an overall deal with Paramount to continue producing new episodes for Comedy Central beyond their current agreement, which runs through 2027. Their previous pact — valued at $900 million — was struck in 2021 and funded those Paramount+ made-for-streaming specials as well as the main series. The acquisition of exclusive streaming rights to "South Park" is a major win for Paramount+, which continues to compete against giants like Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max, and also with the Skydance Acquisition lingering in the balance. A four-year-old was attacked by a mountain lion at Olympic National Park in Washington state, the National Park Service said. The attack happened at about 3:15 p.m. on July 20 near the Victoria Overlook area on Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park, thepark service said in a statement. The mountain lion, which was collared, bit the child on a popular trail as the minor walked with family. Paramedics and park staff airlifted the victim to a trauma center in Seattle, where the child is undergoing treatment, the park service said. Officials did not provide additional information about the child, citing privacy reasons. Rangers began searching for the cougar immediately after the attack and were later joined by a canine team, the park service confirmed. Park staff later located the mountain lion and "dispatched the animal" on July 21. "There are no current threats to the public," the park service said. The incident remains under investigation. Though attacks on humans are rare, mountain lions are a potentially dangerous animal, theNational Park Service warnedon its website. Male cougars can weigh up to 150 pounds, while female cougars can weigh between 75 and 100 pounds. In 2024, ahorrific mountain lion attackleft one man dead and another injured in a remote forest area in Northern California. Taylen Robert Claude Brooks, 21, was killed during the attack in the small community of Georgetown, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Officeposted in a statementon social media at the time. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service offers guidelines on howpeople can stay safe while navigating a mountain lion habitat, including hiking with a companion and being aware of their surroundings. If someone encounters a puma in the wild, the service advises people to do the following: "Do not approach." "Stop, stay calm, and do not turn your back. Do not run." "Face the animal, stand upright, talk calmly and firmly to the cougar, and give it a way to escape if you can". Do all you can to appear larger. For example, open your jacket and raise or wave your arms. "Pick up small children or pets immediately so they won't panic, flee, or make rapid movements." "If the cougar becomes more aggressive, become more aggressive toward it. Convince the animal that you are not prey, but a danger to it." "Fight back if attacked."
