On Friday, Sept. 5, the Grammy winner, 27, posted a series of hilarious Instagram Stories subtly announcing that she purchased a new home. Doechii (real name Jaylah Ji'mya Hickmon) did not reveal what city she bought her new home in. She is originally from Tampa, Fla., but moved to Los Angeles in 2019. Her Instagram Stories began with her asking followers, "Rate me saying 'Get out of my house' in my new house." Doechii/Instagram The next seven slides included videos of the rapper shouting different variations of "Get out." With each post, she added a poll asking her followers what they think of her various "performances." A few of the options she provided followers included: "Needs more passion," "Overzealous," "Gut wrenching," "has urgency but lacks accuracy," "had me then you lost me," "Much better but I think you can do alittle better," and "stop posting these." Doechii/Instagram Although the rapper shared several videos of herself in her home, she stayed put in her kitchen, showcasing various parts of it. The videos share glimpses of her teal tile backsplash, open shelves for her pots and pans and her contemporary finishes. The rapper's recent purchase follows her "transformative" year and rise to fame. In February, she cinchedher first Grammy for best rap albumforAlligator Bites Never Healat the67th Grammys. The next month, she took home the outstanding music artist award at the36th GLAAD Media Awards. At the event, she told PEOPLE that her recent year has been "transformative." "Truly. All of my dreams have become a reality, and I feel like I am literally walking in a dream," she said. Asked by PEOPLE what she would tell the Doechii of five years ago, she responded, "I would say keep going, star. You're doing good. Keep going."
