(They both suggested that season eight is gonna' get rough.) The latest gab session was instead devoted to taking questions from the fans — which led to a surprising story about a rock & roll legend. A listener asked if Sweetin, who was between the ages of five and 13 during the original broadcast, and Barber, who was 11 to 19, ever got starstruck during production. And both agreed that the answer was no. Sure, they had respect for special guests likeFrankie Valli,Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, andThe Beach Boys, who all made memorable appearances, but they were too young to fully recognize their greatness. Sostarstruck? No. "But I was juststruck," Sweetin remembered, kicking off a recollection. "You werestruck," Barber confirmed, clearly knowing where this story was going. "Struck byLittle Richard. To preface this, Little Richard, now I know, was groundbreaking for his time, and just absolutely brilliant. But at the time, he was, like, your parents' generation. You're like, 'Whatevs.' Now I'm like, 'You got to meet Little Richard!'" she explained. "So we're standing next to him, in Joey's room, and he's playing the keyboard, as one does. Well, he does his big finish, with 'Whooooooo!'" Sweetin remembered. "Very animated," Barber added, saluting the great showman. "So he just threw his hand back and got me in the face!" Sweetin said, before adding, "Let me state: not intentional! Nor did he continue on. He stopped with 'I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry.' No teeth were knocked out, no noses were bloodied. But I still like to tell the story that I got backhanded by Little Richard." "You gotta love a performer that's so in the zone," Barber mused. Just to prove that the gals did not hallucinate this, here is Little Richard "awhooooooo!"ing his way through a guest appearance onFull Houseback in 1994. He sings "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." We hope he was well compensated. To hear Sweetin and Barber answer more questions from their fans, check out the latest episode ofHow Rude, Tanneritos!below. Suicide attacker in Somali capital kills 13 at a military recruitment centerNew Foto - Suicide attacker in Somali capital kills 13 at a military recruitment center

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) — A suicide bomber in theSomali capitalon Sunday targeted young recruits waiting to register at a military camp, killing at least 13 and wounding 21 others, witnesses said. Mogadishu has been repeatedly targeted bythe al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab extremist group, which has waged an insurgency for over a decade. The group frequently attacks military and government sites as part of its effort to impose its strict interpretation of Islamic law. "There was a loud explosion, and immediately people began running in all directions. Bodies were everywhere," said Abdulkadir Hassan Mohamed, a tuk-tuk driver who witnessed the blast. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. A soldier identified only as Hussein, who was part of the camp's guard unit, told The Associated Press that many young recruits were waiting patiently in line. "The explosion was devastating. I saw many casualties. The attacker disguised himself as a recruit before blowing himself up," he said. He said the dead included five civilian passers-by. A similar attack in July 2023 at the Jaalle Siyaad Military Academy in Mogadishu killed 25 soldiers and wounded 70. Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for that attack.

7 inmates still at large after New Orleans jail escape, officials increase rewardNew Foto - 7 inmates still at large after New Orleans jail escape, officials increase reward

A massive manhunt remains underway in Louisiana on May 18 forseven of the 10 inmates who broke out of a New Orleans jail, potentially with the help of jail employees. The inmates, some of whom are facing murder charges, escaped from Orleans Parish Prison around 1 a.m. on May 16.The men pulled a "defective" cell door off its tracks and escaped through a hole in the wall behind a toilet and sink unit, according to Susan Hutson, sheriff of Orleans Parish. By the evening of May 17, Kendell Myles, Robert Moody and Dkenan Dennis had been taken back into custody, according to Gov. Jeff Landry. Local, state and federal law enforcement agencies are still working to find Corey Boyd, Leo Tate, Jermaine Donald, Derrick Groves, Lenton Vanburen, Antoine T. Massey and Gary C. Price. "The job is NOT finished!" Landry said in a social mediapost. The city of New Orleans and its police department urged residents and visitors to stay vigilant during the manhunt and report any suspicious activity,WDSUreported. The reward for information leading to an arrest has increased to $12,000, according to theLouisiana State Police. Orleans Parish Chief of Corrections Jeworski Mallett said the inmates couldn't have breached the wall near the toilets without outside assistance. "It was more than just a breach of security, it was some type of help," Mallett said. Security footage captured the men tampering with a cell door, fleeing via a loading dock and running across a highway. Hutson said a jail employee saw the men escaping through surveillance and failed to report it. "We have indication that these detainees received assistance in their escape from individuals inside of our department," Hutson said. The jail housed 1,400 inmates including several "high security" prisoners convicted of violent crimes who required a "restrictive housing environment that did not exist," Mallett toldPBS. At least three of the escaped inmates are charged with murder or attempted murder, according to parish records. Myles, Moody and Dennis ‒ the three recaptured inmates ‒ were awaiting trial on various felony charges, including attempted murder, armed robberies, aggravated assault, battery, extortion, illegally carrying weapons and illegal drug possession offenses, according to the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office inmate records. Price, 21, is charged with attempted first-degree murder. Donald, 42, is charged with second-degree murder. Massey, 32, is charged with domestic abuse involving strangulation, according to Parish records. It is unclear what additional charges the inmates might face following their escape.
