Beyoncé Knowles-Carterhas yet to perform onstage with her "Cowboy Carter"collaborators during the tour, but one in particular showed up to her show in Chicago. And she made sure to give him a special shout-out. Beyoncétook thestage at Solider Fieldfor her second concert in the Windy City on May 17. During her performance, she told fans there was a special guest in the building. "We gotShaboozeyin the house tonight," she said. And theNigerian-American artistwas sure to confirm this, posting the stadium to his Instagram story during the show. Born as Collins Chibueze, Shaboozeyis featuredon her songs "Spaghettii" and "Sweet Honey Buckiin'" from the eight studio album. While she was handing out thank-yous toward the end of the show, she once again expressed her appreciation for the "Tipsy" singer, saying, "once again thank you to Shaboozey for being here tonight." Fans will remember, Beyoncé performed with Shaboozey during theNFL halftime performance on Christmas Day. She performed a total of five shows there, and the concerts proved to berevolutionary spectaclefilled with fashion, different music genres and most notably country music and politics. The nine-city tour will span the U.S. and Europe with the grand finaletaking place in Las Vegason July 26. Beyoncé has alreadymade history with her scheduled tour dates, including by playing the most dates at SoFi Stadium of any artist. The legendary story of the football icon and video game trailblazer is being told in an upcoming movie, directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook,American Hustle). Although the NFL season is still a few months away, fans have already gotten a sneak peek at how the late coach's life will be told on the big screen. Madden's career started when he was drafted as a player by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1958, before a knee injury sidelined him. In 1969, he became the head coach for the Oakland Raiders, leading them to their firstSuper Bowlvictory seven years later. In 1979, Madden retired from coaching and went on to become a beloved color commentator until 2009. The former pro athlete was also the face and voice of one of the biggest video game franchises of all time,Madden NFL. Sadly, Madden died at the age of 85 on Dec. 28, 2021. "Nobody loved football more than Coach.He was football. He was an incredible sounding board to me and so many others," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell saidin a statementat the time. "There will never be another John Madden, and we will forever be indebted to him for all he did to make football and the NFL what it is today." The firstMaddenvideo game was released by Electronic Artsin 1988, and the popular franchise continues to this day. In November 2024, Amazon Prime released afour-part docuseries,It's in the Game: Madden NFL, about the making of the classic game. The latest installment,Madden NFL 26, will be available on Aug. 14, 2025. In addition to directingMadden, Russell is also producing and writing the feature. Death is not looming for the "Final Destination" franchise at the box office. Its sixth installment,"Final Destination: Bloodlines,"drew big crowds to movie theaters this weekend and easily topped the domestic charts with $51 million in ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday. The movie earned the same internationally, adding up to a $102 million global debut. The same enthusiasm did not meet Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye's experimental thriller"Hurry Up Tomorrow,"which opened outside of the top five with an estimated $3.3 million. "It was always going to have a tough time coming up against 'Final Destination: Bloodlines,'" said Paul Dergarabedian, the senior media analyst for Comscore. "There was a lot of buzz." "Final Destination: Bloodlines" opened in 3,523 locations riding in on a wave of strong reviews (93% on Rotten Tomatoes) and viral marketing tactics, including a picture of logs on the back of trucks — a callback to one of the more infamous "Final Destination" death traps. "Final Destination's" win effectively revives a 25-year-old franchise that hasn't had a new film since 2011. It also continues a hot streak for Warner Bros., which has had near back-to-back hits inRyan Coogler's "Sinners"and "A Minecraft Movie." All three were in the top five this weekend. Disney's"Thunderbolts"landed in second with $16.5 million, pushing its global total to over $325 million. "Sinners" placed third with $15.4 million, bringing its global total to $316.8 million. "A Minecraft Movie," which has made $928.6 million globally, added $5.9 million. Amazon MGM Studios' "The Accountant 2" rounded out the top five. "Hurry Up Tomorrow" opened in sixth place. The film, which Tesfaye co-wrote and Trey Edward Shults directed, is a kind of companion piece to his album and tour. He plays a fictionalized version of himself as an insomniac musician. Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan also star. Neither critics nor audiences greeted it kindly: It carries a 13% on Rotten Tomatoes and was slapped with a C- CinemaScore. AP music writer Maria Sherman wrote that it's "an exciting vanity project with surrealist imagination but stiff writing, no stakes, limited emotional weight and an unclear narrative." Lionsgate only handled the release of the R-rated film, which opened on over 2,000 screens and its $3.3 million was enough to make it a profitable deal for the studio. Next weekend could be a big one for movie theaters as"Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning"and the live-action"Lilo & Stitch"both open nationwide. The overall domestic box office remains up nearly 15% from last year. "This weekend is the perfect opening act for what could be one of the biggest Memorial weekends at the box office ever," Dergarabedian said. AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Tens of thousands of protesters marched through The Hague on Sunday demanding a tougher stance from the Dutch government against Israel's war in Gaza. Organiser Oxfam Novib said around 100,000 protesters had joined the march, most dressed in red expressing their desire for a "red line" against Israel's siege on Gaza, where it has cut off medical, food and fuel supplies. The march also passed the seat of the International Court of Justice, which is hearing a case brought by South Africa accusing Israel of genocide and last year ordered Israel to halt a military assault on the southern Gaza city of Rafah. Israel dismisses accusations of genocide as baseless and has argued in court that its operations in Gaza are self defence and targeted at Hamas militants who attacked Israel on Oct. 7. Oxfam Novib said the Dutch government had ignored what it said were war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza, and urged protesters to demand a tougher line. Dutch Foreign Affairs minister Caspar Veldkamp earlier this month said he wanted the EU to reconsider cooperation agreements it has with Israel. But the Dutch government has so far refrained from harsher criticism, and the leader of the largest party in the government coalition, anti-Muslim populist Geert Wilders, has repeatedly voiced unwavering support for Israel. LONDON, Ky. (AP) — Residents in Kentucky and Missouri sifted through damage in tornado-stricken neighborhoods and remained on edge Sunday for more severe weather ahead afterstormsswept through parts of the Midwest and South and killed more than two dozen people. Kentucky was hardest hit as a devastating tornado damaged hundreds of homes, tossed vehicles and left many homeless. At least 19 people were killed, most of them in southeastern Laurel County. Meteorologists predicted a fresh "multi-day" mix of dangerous weather conditions across the nation's midsection starting Sunday with heavy rains, thunderstorms and the possibility of more tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service. Severe storms were possible for Kentucky on Monday and even more so on Tuesday, the weather service said. Jeff Wyatt's home of 17 years was destroyed along with much of his neighborhood in London, Kentucky. Wyatt, his wife and two of their children scarcely made it to safety in a hallway while the roof and family room were ripped away. On Sunday, the family returned to the wreckage to collect photos, baby blankets and other keepsakes. "It happened so fast," said Wyatt, 54. "If we would have been there 10 seconds longer, we would have been gone with the family room." The latest Kentucky storms were part of a weather system Friday that killed seven in Missouri and two in northern Virginia, authorities said. The system also spawned tornadoes in Wisconsin, brought punishing heat to Texas and temporarily enveloped parts of Illinois — including Chicago — in a pall of dust on an otherwise sunny day. The weather service said parts of Missouri and Kansas could see severe thunderstorms, golf ball-sized hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph (97 kph) into Monday. In London, Kentucky, Ryan VanNorstran huddled with his brother's large dogs in a first-floor closet as the storm hit his brother's home Friday in a neighborhood along Keavy Road where much of the destruction in the community of nearly 8,000 people was centered. VanNorstran was house-sitting. He said he felt the house shake as he got in the closet. Then a door from another house crashed through a window. All the windows blew out of the house and his car was destroyed. Chunks of wood had punched through several parts of the roof but the house avoided catastrophic damage. When he stepped outside he heard "a lot of screaming." "I guess in the moment, I kind of realized there was nothing I could do. I'd never really felt that kind of power from just nature," he said. "And so I was in there and I was just kind of thinking, it's either gonna take me or it's all gonna be all right." Survey teams were expected on the ground in Kentucky on Monday so the state can apply for federal disaster assistance, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said. He announced the 19th storm victim on Sunday, identifying her as an adult woman from Russell County. Beshear said of the 10 people hospitalized for injuries related to the severe weather, three remained in critical condition. "I want tornado survivors to know we're thankful they're here — and we will help them with everything else," he said on X, touting fundraising efforts to help with funeral expenses and rebuilding. Parts of two dozen state roads were closed, and some could take days to reopen, he said. About 1,200 tornadoesstrike the U.S. annually, and they have been reported in all 50 states over the years.Researchers foundin 2018 that deadly tornadoes were happening less frequently in the traditional "Tornado Alley" of Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas and more frequently in parts of the more densely populated and tree-filled mid-South. In St. Louis, Mayor Cara Spencer said five people died, 38 were injured and more than 5,000 homes were affected. "The devastation is truly heartbreaking," she said at a news conference Saturday. A tornado struck in Scott County, about 130 miles (209 kilometers) south of St. Louis, killing two people, injuring several others and destroying multiple homes, Sheriff Derick Wheetley wrote on social media. The storms hit after theTrumpadministration massively cut staffing of National Weather Service offices, with outside experts worrying about how it would affect warnings in disasters such as tornadoes. The office in Jackson, Kentucky, which was responsible for the area around London, Kentucky, had a March 2025 vacancy rate of 25%; the Louisville, Kentucky, weather service staff was down 29%; and the St. Louis office was down 16%, according to calculations by weather service employees obtained by The Associated Press. The Louisville office was also without a permanent boss, the meteorologist in charge, as of March, according to the staffing data.
